Today’s game will prove to be a pivotal game for both schools as Baylor looks to bounce back from a disappointing OT loss to Colorado last week while BYU looks to continue its undefeated start.
Although Baylor looked impressive with spurts of explosive plays in their loss last week, I don’t expect them to have the same success against a much stronger defense in BYU. Having not allowed more than 15 points all season thus far, I expect this to be a relatively low scoring game and a defensive battle between two teams with a lot on the line early in the season.
It must also be mentioned that the Cougars leading rusher LJ Martin will be out for todays game, missing his 3rd straight. Although we can expect this to impact BYU’s rushing attack from the backfield, I anticipate Retzlaff and the supporting cast to continue to carry the torch in his absence.
